Noir - 2 English Theatre Season

StageLight&Magic's 2nd English theatre festival..
StageLight&Magic will be staging the 2nd English theatre festival from the 18th – 27th of July at the Punchi Theatre in Borella. This year’s festival covers 6 performance days in which 9 plays will be staged.

Hamlet at Elsie’s Bar

A musical comedy anyone?....
StageLight&Magic will be staging a musical comedy called Hamlet at Elsie’s bar in February 2009 at the Lionel Wendt theatre. This is the Worldwide premier performance on the show.

We are a collective of theatre enthusiasts, who share a common goal of improving the standard of English theatre in Sri Lanka. Towards this we have produced a number of plays, which have been pioneering efforts in terms of interpretation and staging.

Our theatrical efforts include works from playwrights such as William Shakespeare, George Orwell, Dario Fo, Arial Dorfman and David Mamat. Since our inception, we have consistantly pushed the boundaries of English theatre with our innovative staging methods, The use of technology and the diverse interpretation of characters and the plot.
